Rayford Hobbs Sensory

The flight to Milwaukee and Nancy's farm was at 2am. Once I was on the road out of the city and approaching the open plains and farmland it begin to sink in what I was leaving behind and what I was about to encounter, a uneasy feeling of uncertainty came over me. It was not fear as much as it was anticipation and the wide open spaces of hay and herds of cattle spurred imaginations of reliving a past generations before. Had I been here before? Are these the fields I dreamed of that I ran though endlessly up and over the hills? There was a sense of safety but the memories kept coming back and so I continued my journey along fence lines and crossing creeks until the Big House was no longer in sight. From afar I could see the silhouette of another person whose body language told me they did not want our paths to cross so I reversed my direction and never looked back. It was a strange encounter in a place that I thought I was alone and immediately I returned to shelter. I had nothing on me to identify myself just shorts and a water bottle, an old t-shirt. I was out of place for the surroundings and I knew it.

It is here where my heart resides and where my mind rests. It is here where you will find The Sages that taught me well and when I was ready they sent me out into the world, on this Earth, in this Universe, to do what I was called to do.

Nancy was an exceptionally perceptive woman that could sit and look at you for forty-five minutes without saying a word. It was her pleasure to seat me down in the Big Room directly across form her but at a distance of at least twenty feet. The view of the lake through the floor to twelve foot window was distracting and a family of deer played on the grass as the evening Sun gave way to darkness. Nancy approached conversation like an attorney never asking a question that she did not know the answer to. Her stature was impeccable and the surroundings told a story of a well traveled woman with an unforgettable story in every port. Well educated and extremely intelligent, slender and well maintained, she was a graceful beauty and was determined to live every moment of her life the way she wanted to even to the very last minute. She didn't appear to really know what to think of me but she was intrigued and never hesitated to pry deeper at any thought left unanswered. She enjoyed probing and submitted very pointed and unavoidable questions. She was an intriguing woman and I enjoyed her company, she was respectful always.
